Major insurers have cut posted labor rates in multiple markets across the country while repair complexity keeps climbing. ADAS calibration is now required on 28.3% of all repairable claims, and insurers routinely dispute or underpay it. The technician shortage is projected to hit 100,000 unfilled positions over the next five years.

These are not trends that self-correct. They get worse when shops face them alone.

MSCRA is the organization working these problems in Utah and Colorado. We track labor rate data across both states, document insurer conduct for use in regulatory and legislative settings, provide consumer education that supports the shops consumers trust, and connect members to SCRS at the national level. Your membership funds that work and gives you access to everything MSCRA builds.

Insurance companies are not eligible for membership.

What Your Membership Gets You

Advocacy You Can Actually Use

MSCRA tracks labor rate data from member shops across Utah and Colorado and takes that data into state-level regulatory and legislative discussions. When an insurer posts a rate schedule that doesn't cover what it costs to operate a shop in this market, MSCRA documents the gap and pushes back through available channels. Individual shops fight these battles alone every day. MSCRA fights them with organized documentation and a credible industry voice.

Connection to SCRS at the National Level

MSCRA joined SCRS as an Affiliate Association in March 2026. SCRS is the Society of Collision Repair Specialists, the national organization representing independent collision repair shops across North America. SCRS publishes OEM position statements, labor rate research, and repair procedure guidance that shops use to document proper methods and justify supplement claims.

Monthly Webinars Built Around Your Actual Problems

The webinar topics are not pre-set by a curriculum committee. They come from what member shops are asking about right now. In 2026 that includes ADAS calibration cost recovery, EV repair readiness, labor rate documentation and negotiation, technician recruitment and retention, and OEM parts documentation. Sessions run approximately 60 minutes and are recorded for access in the member portal.

The MSCRA Job Board

The technician shortage is real and it affects every shop in this market. The MSCRA job board gives Utah and Colorado shops a place to post open positions and gives qualified technicians, estimators, and managers a place to find them.

The Member Portal

Documents, meeting recordings, event registration, rate survey results, and the member directory are all in one place. You don't have to track down what was discussed at the last webinar or wait for someone to email you the handout.

A Peer Network of Working Collision Repair Professionals

MSCRA members are shop owners, technicians, and estimators in Utah and Colorado who are dealing with the same insurer pressure, the same ADAS and EV challenges, and the same workforce issues you are. MSCRA creates the environment for that network to actually function.
